April rarely fails to please gardeners, even though there will almost certainly be a few frosts - at least - and probably some showers, for there will be a true shaking-off of winter amongst the plant kingdom. Bulbs, perennials. shrubs and trees will all have a few members of their clan that insist on pushing flowers forward. Good for us, for there is nothing like a few spring flowers to assure us that our time as gardeners is coming soon - if not already here.
Get your notebooks ready please, and jot down names or descriptions of those flowering plants to help us formulate the ultimate "Plants in Flower this Month" resource on the web - The Flowertime Project. We can only do this with your help. We need to know the names of plants that flower in April in your garden. If you are uncertain of names, then a picture will do and we can try to identify it from that!
Here's a few to whet your appetite and to waken your awareness of what is happening in your garden or roundabout.
